PSP arrests two men for theft

According to a source from the Vila Real PSP, a passerby saw two individuals “backing a moped” in the Santa Maria neighborhood and alerted the authorities. Police officers went to the scene and arrested the men, both in their 50s, for attempted theft of the vehicle.

In the summary of weekly activity, between June 30th and July 7th, the Vila Real District Command stated that, within the scope of combating crime, among the various occurrences and actions carried out, it carried out these two arrests.

In terms of road inspection and during this time period, with regard to road accidents, there were 10 road accidents, with 2 minor injuries, in the coverage area, which also includes the city of Chaves.

The PSP appeals to all drivers to “drive safely and not adopt behaviors that may reduce their capabilities, namely driving at excessive speed or under the influence of alcohol, or that are likely to cause distractions, such as using a mobile phone while driving”.

Only with responsible and safe conduct on the part of all road users will it be possible to reduce accidents.
