Rugby: AAC celebrates 70 years with 50 titles in book

At the invitation of the Rugby Section of Académica (SR/AAC) Sérgio Franco to compile texts already written about the international athletes of the “blacks” Sérgio Franco responded twice.

“It was a unique opportunity to also pay tribute to the players who won titles and the most memorable moments of our senior team,” he admits to DIÁRIO AS BEIRAS.

The book “70 Years – 50 Titles” was born “from the desire to preserve the collective memory and value those who helped build the best moments in the history of SR/AAC: athletes, coaches, directors and all those who, even anonymously, kept AAC rugby alive”, he summarizes.

Sérgio Franco is also one of the names honored by the book, as he was "a player and coach in many of the events covered." Therefore, he felt it was "essential to include other voices and testimonies—from teammates, coaches, and directors—who helped enrich the book and give it the diversity that Académica's history deserves."
