Sardines are king in Pap'Açorda

Sardines are king in Pap'Açorda

July, August and September. To celebrate the hottest months of the year and to bring together Portuguese culture that can be enjoyed at the table, Pap'Açorda has decided to give a star honour to a Portuguese ingredient each month, making it the star of a very special dinner on Thursdays.

The debut will take place on July 10th and the first guest at the table will be sardines, ready to be enjoyed to their full potential, with "honest seasonings and accompanied by wines to match".

"The invitation is simple: bring your appetite and good company. Manuela will take care of the rest, with a menu that includes things like escabeche and sardine cutlet, sardine rice, and other surprises — always accompanied by good wine", says the restaurant that has won over the Portuguese and tourists who sample the best that Portuguese cuisine has to offer since the first time the Mercado Time Out Lisboa opened.

With one Thursday a month, between July and September, dedicated to tasting a special ingredient, Manuela Brandão — the chef from Trás-os-Montes who for almost 40 years has created the dishes that made us fall in love with Pap'Açorda in Bairro Alto — throws the party, which starts with sardines, goes all out with seafood in the middle of August and settles on the best of black pork when the summer is coming to an end.

Capacity is limited, so if you don't want to miss out, hurry up and reserve your table.
