Ukraine would need 500 billion euros to compensate for damage caused by the war

“About 13% of Ukraine’s housing stock is damaged or destroyed, affecting over 2.5 million homes. There is a 70% increase in the level of damaged or destroyed assets in the energy sector. The housing sector accounts for about $84 billion (€80 billion) of the long-term needs, followed by transport with $78 billion (€74.4 billion), energy and mining with $68 billion (€64.9 billion), trade and industry with $64 billion (€61.1 billion), and agriculture with $55 billion (€52.5 billion). The cost of damage removal and management is expected to reach $13 billion (€12.4 billion),” the study estimates the amount needed to rebuild the Ukrainian economy.
