Vila Real starts the championship on the right foot
In the opening round of the Campeonato de Portugal, on Sunday, SC Vila Real played away at Florgrade FC and managed to take all three points in their debut in series B, against a team that had more opportunities but failed to break through the Transmontano defense.
Cortegaça's team started with pressure and dominated possession. The first significant opportunity came in the 23rd minute, when André Paço's shot hit the net, but wide.
Shortly after, the black and whites responded, through João Sousa, assisted by Armando Silva, for an easy save by Marco Pereira.
