Mota-Engil soars 9% and PSI remains in the 'green'

The Lisbon stock exchange is trading in positive territory mid-session, with a gain of 0.78% to 7,764.28 points.
Mota-Engil leads the session, soaring 9.41% to €5.580 after winning the tender for the submerged tunnel in Brazil. CTT rises 2.54% to €7.28, EDP Renováveis gains 1.80% to €10.18, Semapa increases 1.46% to €18.02, BCP adds 1.15% to €0.7190, and Galp advances 0.76% to €15.89.
In contrast, Jerónimo Martins lost 0.64% to 21.76 euros, Sonae fell 0.31% to 1.2940 euros, REN slipped 0.17% to 2.960 euros and EDP slipped 0.16% to 3.743 euros.
The main European markets are trading in positive territory, with the DAX gaining 0.61% to 23,756.00 points, the CAC40 increasing 0.45% to 7,709.00 points and the IBEX35 rising 0.76% to 14,951.86 points.
Millennium Investment Banking market analyst Ramiro Loureiro states that " European stock markets remain high on the day the French government submits to a vote of confidence, which, if rejected, will lead to early elections. In Portugal, Mota-Engil's surge is notable after winning a contract to build the first underwater tunnel in Brazil."
"On the macroeconomic front, the highlight is the revelation that the Japanese economy grew well above expectations in the second quarter and that German industrial production was higher than expected in July. German exports, meanwhile, contracted unexpectedly that month. In China, both exports and imports grew less than expected in August. In terms of raw materials, oil prices are rising after OPEC agreed to a smaller production increase," he notes.
In the oil market, Texas-based WTI rose 1.97%, setting the price per barrel at $63.09, and Brent gained 1.94% to $66.77. Natural gas rose 2.79% to $3.133.
In the foreign exchange market, the euro appreciated 0.08% against the dollar, settling at 1.1728 dollars.
