The Federal Audit Court (TCU) asks the Chamber of Deputies to investigate Eduardo Bolsonaro's spending in the US

The Federal Audit Court (TCU) asks the Chamber of Deputies to investigate Eduardo Bolsonaro's spending in the US

The Federal Court of Auditors (TCU) has recommended that the Chamber of Deputies investigate the use of public funds by Federal Representative Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) to remain in the United States, where, on leave from his mandate, he is working with American authorities to facilitate sanctions against Brazil and its authorities. In the decision, the justices request that the Chamber submit the findings of the investigation into the congressman's spending.

When contacted, Eduardo Bolsonaro did not comment.

According to the report, Eduardo was absent four times while he was already abroad without proper justification and without deductions from his R$46,000 salary. Because the potential damage to the public treasury involved less than R$120,000, the TCU (TCU) left the investigation to the Chamber of Deputies, as this is the minimum amount required to trigger the court's action.

The action stemmed from a complaint filed by federal deputy Guilherme Boulos (PSOL-SP), who considers his opponent's actions an "attack on sovereignty" and calls for criminal liability.
