Eduardo Leite's departure reduces PSDB to just one governor; PSD advances and equals PT and União

With the affiliation of the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite , to Gilberto Kassab's PSD this Friday 9th, the PSDB joins Novo and Solidariedade in the ranking of parties with only one head of the state Executive.
The situation for the tucanos could still get worse, as the party runs the risk of being left without a governor, since Eduardo Riedel , from Mato Grosso do Sul, is also negotiating a departure from the party.
The acronym, which although has its history intertwined with that of redemocratization in Brazil, has not excited voters and is discussing a merger with Podemos in search of political survival.
On the other hand, Leite's arrival at the PSD means the party now has four heads of state executives: Fábio Mitidieri (Sergipe), Ratinho Jr. (Paraná) and Raquel Lyra (Pernambuco) – the latter, in fact, left the PSDB at the beginning of the year , increasing the exodus of PSDB politicians elected in the last elections.
Kassab's party is therefore tied with PT and União Brasil, which also have four governors each. Right behind them are MDB and PSB, both with three politicians leading the states. Jair Bolsonaro 's PL, Ciro Nogueira's PP and the Republicans have two each.
