Pacific nations on tsunami alert after Russia earthquake

Russia has recorded one of the strongest earthquakes of the century, measuring 8.8 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was recorded in the sea off the city of Kamchatka. The city was already shaken by a magnitude 6.9 aftershock. This earthquake has already prompted several Pacific countries to issue tsunami warnings.
Shortly after the earthquake, the city of Kamchatka experienced a four-meter tsunami, prompting authorities to ask residents to stay away from coastal areas.
Russia declared a state of emergency for Severo-Kurilsk, which was flooded, however the Severo-Kurilsk district was evacuated after the earthquake, with no injuries reported.
Tsunami warnings have already reached Alaska and Japan, with waves potentially reaching 1-3 meters. Since this morning, Japan has issued evacuation orders for some coastal areas due to the high risk of a tsunami. The Fukushima power plant has already been evacuated, as have approximately two million people, who have already been evacuated from the country.
The alert level has also been raised for Hawaii, with a state of emergency declared and evacuation of the coastal area ordered, as "destructive tsunami waves" are expected. The U.S. Navy helped carry out evacuations on the island, which experienced waves of nearly six feet.
The water receded six to nine meters on the North American island, with large waves expected. However, shortly afterward, the Honolulu Emergency Management Department lowered the tsunami warning level for the island. Despite this lowering of the warning level, caution is still recommended when approaching the water.
According to the data collected, several countries could be affected by tsunamis, including Ecuador, the Philippines, California, Oregon, Washington, China, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.
New Zealand may also be affected, with "strong and unusual currents and unpredictable waves" expected, though nothing has been reported yet. Canada also expects small waves, reaching 30 centimeters.
In California, tsunami waves have already been felt, but so far they are at 30 centimeters.
