Kyrgyz parliament committees approve border treaty with Tajikistan

Six committees of the Kyrgyz parliament have approved the agreement on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. This was reported by the press service of the legislative assembly of the republic, RIA Novosti reports.

A number of documents were reviewed and submitted to a vote by the parliamentary committee on international affairs, defense, security and migration, the committee on fuel and energy complex, subsoil use and industrial policy, the committee on agrarian policy, water resources, ecology and regional development, the committee on law and order, combating crime and combating corruption, the committee on transport, communications, architecture and construction and the committee on constitutional legislation , state structure, judicial and legal issues and regulations of the parliament of Kyrgyzstan.

The department also reported that the committees reviewed a draft agreement between the two countries on the construction and use of highways and a draft agreement on ensuring access to water and energy facilities between the countries.

Earlier, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan signed an agreement on border delimitation. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov concluded that both sides would resettle their citizens who found themselves outside their countries.
