Russian paratroopers have evacuated a Leopard 2A6 tank of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) from one of the border areas of the Kursk region, RT reports, citing a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense .
According to the department, the tank was hit by an FPV drone operator with a fiber-optic connection from a separate reconnaissance battalion of Tula paratroopers with the call sign Zyaba back in the winter of 2025.
The evacuation of the armored vehicle took place in two stages: first, an engineering and technical reconnaissance of the area was carried out, and then the actual operation to remove the tank took place.
“ T-80 tanks, which were equipped with evacuation equipment, were used to evacuate the Leopard,” the ministry said.
Earlier, a Russian soldier with the call sign Strannik spoke about the destruction of the first Leopard 2 tank in the Kursk region. According to the soldier, he was driven by a sense of revenge for a fellow soldier.
