The Ukrainian Armed Forces unsuccessfully hid a mortar crew in the forest from Russian artillerymen

Artillerymen of the "North" group of forces destroyed a mortar crew of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkov region, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reports. According to the department, the military discovered a camouflaged firing position of a crew of a portable mortar of the Ukrainian Armed Forces unit in a wooded area.

After determining and confirming the exact coordinates of the enemy's location, a decision was made to use firepower from the mortar battery. The detected target was quickly destroyed by a precise hit from the artillery of the "North" troop group , the Ministry of Defense said .

Objective control means recorded a direct hit on the enemy's weapons, the Defense Ministry emphasized. An explosion was also observed at the firing position.

Earlier, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya, during his speech at the UN General Assembly, called the losses of Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk region horrific. He also recalled the successes of the Russian army in Donbass, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.

Earlier, the Telegram channel "Donbass Partizan" reported that Russian troops launched an Iskander missile strike on a hotel in Krivoy Rog, Ukraine. Journalists wrote that the facility housed Ukrainian Armed Forces commanders and NATO military advisers . The Russian Defense Ministry did not comment on the information.
