Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced plans to increase the minimum wage starting in 2026. At a meeting with members of the Cabinet, he announced that the minimum wage will increase by more than 20%, reaching 27,093 rubles, effective January 1.
"The meeting's agenda also includes issues aimed at increasing our citizens' incomes. Amendments to current legislation raising the minimum wage have been prepared; it will increase by more than 20%, reaching 27,093 rubles starting January 1 of next year," Mishustin noted.
According to the Prime Minister, this measure will have a positive impact on wage growth for approximately 4.5 million citizens. Furthermore, the new minimum wage will be the basis for calculating vacation pay, sick leave, and various benefits, significantly improving the financial situation of workers.
