Detected with camera: 80 thousand TL fine
Receiving numerous reports of illegal rubble dumping on vacant lots in the Yeşilkent, Firuzköy and Tahtakale neighborhoods of Istanbul's Avcılar district, Avcılar Municipality Police Department teams took precautions by installing security cameras in designated areas.
During the inspections of the teams, two vehicles were detected bringing rubble filled in sacks to vacant lots in the Yeşilkent and Firuzköy neighborhoods and leaving them there.

Police teams went to the area and calculated the amount of waste that was dumped illegally, and identified the vehicle owners based on their license plates.

One of the vehicle owners was fined 20 thousand liras and the other 60 thousand liras, depending on the amount of waste he left behind. In addition, the identities of the vehicle owners were reported to the police for legal action.

Avcılar Municipality Police Chief Adnan Karakoç, who explained what is being done to combat illegal rubble dumping, said, "We have set up a camera system in some areas such as Yeşilkent, Firuzköy, Tahtakale. Our friends are doing the camera control. As you can see in the recording, people come to Yeşilkent G520 Street and dump their rubble illegally. In the area we call Gölboyu in Firuzköy, people come, dump their rubble illegally and leave the area. We have identified these. We are sending fines to their addresses."

Karaçoç said, "Our friends are conducting inspections 24/7 regarding illegal dumping. We are getting information about these people from our district police department. We are applying penalties because they are polluting the environment. We imposed a fine of 20 thousand TL on one and 60 thousand TL on the other. We are determined as the police, we will not allow them to pollute the environment."
