Discussion on table collection in Büyükada: A dispute broke out between the police and the shopkeepers

The incident took place in the morning hours on Büyükada. According to the allegations, during the inspections carried out by the police teams affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) and the Adalar Municipality police teams, the tables, chairs and sunshades in front of some shops and businesses were requested to be collected on the grounds of "occupying the sidewalk". When the shopkeepers refused to have their tables collected, an argument broke out between the police teams and the business owners. During the argument, while the police teams removed the tables, chairs and sunshades placed in front of some businesses, it was noteworthy that they did not intervene in some businesses that were in similar situations. While the verbal argument, which included the citizens in the area, continued for a long time, the words of a shopkeeper whose tables were collected, "You can't take my chair" and "Look at this state, they demolished my shop" were recorded on a mobile phone camera. During the scuffle, it was seen that the items in front of some shops were scattered.
