Elon Musk Attends Trump's First Cabinet Meeting

Trump made assessments on the agenda at the first cabinet meeting held at the White House, which started with a prayer. American billionaire Musk, who is in charge of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), also attended the meeting.
Musk, wearing a MAGA hat, an abbreviation for "Make America Great Again", and a T-shirt that read "Tech Support", was seen outside the table where Trump and cabinet members were sitting.
Musk, who was given the right to speak by Trump at the meeting, explained the work of DOGE.
Emphasizing that the DOGE team aims to help eliminate the budget deficit, Musk said, "We cannot sustain a $2 trillion deficit as a country."
"Right now, the interest on the national debt alone is exceeding the spending of the Department of Defense," Musk said. "We've spent a lot of money on the Department of Defense, but we're spending over a trillion dollars in interest. If this continues, the country will effectively go bankrupt."
Musk, who stated that he received a lot of criticism and death threats because of his work, said that quick action was needed to reduce the deficit by $ 1 trillion by the 2026 fiscal year.

"That would require saving $4 billion every day between now and the end of September. But we can do it and we will do it," Musk said.
Responding to questions about emails from federal government employees asking them to detail work they completed last week, Musk said they were misinterpreted as "performance reviews" and were actually "pulse check" evaluations.
Musk said the purpose of the email was to identify the number of federal employees who may be dead or "fictitious."
