First step for the Turkology department and TEKNOFEST in Indonesia

Turkey's Ambassador to Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Talip Küçükcan, reported that Indonesian Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Brian Yuliarto, had a positive approach to the proposals to open a Turkology department in the country and to organize the TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival.
Küçükcan told AA correspondent that bilateral relations between Türkiye and Indonesia were discussed in their meeting with Indonesian Higher Education, Science and Technology Minister Prof. Dr. Yuliarto.
Reminding that the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Higher Education was signed between the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology on February 12 in Indonesia, where President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan went to attend the first meeting of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council, Ambassador Küçükcan said that they exchanged ideas on developing relations between the two countries in the fields of higher education, science and technology.
Ambassador Küçükcan noted that Indonesian Minister Yuliarto was told that the Turkish language courses and cultural activities of the Yunus Emre Institute (YEE), which started operating in Jakarta two years ago, had attracted great interest from the Indonesian people, but that there was no Turkology department in the country until now, and that Turkey could provide academic staff and resource support if such an initiative was approached positively.
Minister Yuliarto stated that they attach importance to relations with Türkiye and that he looks favorably on the proposal to establish a Turkology department within a university in Indonesia, and that the relevant institutions will be informed.
Ambassador Küçükcan said that he conveyed to Minister Yuliarto that TEKNOFEST, which has been held since 2018, has increased the interest of young people in Turkey in aviation and space technologies, science and innovation, and that they are ready to cooperate in organizing TEKNOFEST, which aims to develop national technologies, in Indonesia if requested.
Minister Yuliarto stated that Indonesia intends to continue its development with technology investments and that they will be happy to host events such as TEKNOFEST to create qualified human capital, and Küçükcan emphasized that they will start working to organize TEKNOFEST in Indonesia.
