Galatasaray Coach Okan Buruk: 'Our goal is the 26th championship'

Galatasaray Coach Okan Buruk made a statement at the press conference held after the match.

Okan Buruk, who touched on the importance of ending the season with a win, said, "It was Muslera and Mertens' farewell match. We said goodbye to both of them. I think we organized this magnificently. Both of them played very well in terms of play. One scored a goal, the other saved goals. They clearly showed how much they still want it, how good and professional footballers they are in their last matches. I am proud of both of them. Okan Buruk stated that they will be chasing the 26th championship next season and said, "We will start the next season in August. Our goal will be the 26th championship. We will do our work from now on. Our fans should trust us, our president and our management. Hopefully, we will not let them down. I would like to thank all the players who worked hard this season, especially Muslera and Mertens. They are all very important to us. May their paths be clear. Hopefully, one day they will cross paths with Galatasaray. They are important parts of this family."

Okan Buruk said that Beşiktaş's Portuguese player Rafa Silva is not on their transfer agenda.

When asked if there were any talks regarding Rafa Silva, Okan Buruk said, "We have not had any transfer talks with anyone. There is no player we are considering from Türkiye. Galatasaray has the best squad in Türkiye. We have not had any talks with any player from Türkiye. Especially with a player who has a contract, we cannot have any talks, we have not had any talks, we will not have any talks. An unnecessary agenda is being created based on something that does not exist, there are absurd talks." He concluded his words.
