Israel forcibly displaces 12,000 people in Tulkerim refugee camp in one month

Israeli forces have completed a month of attacks on the Tulkerim Refugee Camp in the northern West Bank.
Tulkerim Governor Faisal Selame stated in a written statement that the occupation and siege that Israeli soldiers have been maintaining for 30 days in Tulkerim Refugee Camp has caused great destruction.
"Palestinians in the camp are forced to migrate under gun threat"Noting that homes and workplaces have been destroyed and the infrastructure has been completely destroyed in Israel's ongoing attacks, Selame said, "Palestinians in the camp are being forced to migrate under the threat of arms. As a result of the attacks, 12,000 out of 16,000 people in the camp have been displaced. Israeli forces are still wreaking havoc in homes, streets, backstreets and every part of the camp."
Selame reported that Israeli forces dug up roads in four neighborhoods, starting from the El-Belawneh neighborhood to the "Hammam", "Es-Sevalime" and "El-Hademat" neighborhoods on Zenane Street, resulting in the complete destruction of 26 houses and extensive damage to surrounding buildings and shops.
Noting that Israeli forces completely destroyed at least 40 buildings and 300 shops in Tulkerim Refugee Camp and set 10 houses on fire, Selame emphasized that hundreds of houses were partially destroyed, their belongings were damaged, the infrastructure in the camp was destroyed in an unprecedented way, and the education process was disrupted.
Israel seeks to crack down on refugee problem and evacuate campEmphasizing that Israel's attacks on the Tulkerim Refugee Camp had political, not security and military, goals, as it claimed, Selame said the Tel Aviv administration was trying to deal a blow to the refugee problem and reshape its demographic structure by evacuating the camp.
Israeli soldiers have carried out their attacks in the West Bank since January 21st, and have also carried out attacks on refugee camps in the region, particularly in Jenin, Tulkerim and Tubas.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 61 people lost their lives in these attacks, thousands were forcibly displaced, and homes, property and infrastructure in the area were destroyed.
While Israel continued to escalate tensions in the region, it entered the West Bank with tanks on the evening of February 23 and raided the Jenin Refugee Camp in the north.
