Khojaly Massacre commemorated in Iğdır

The commemoration program held at the Cultural Center was attended by Iğdır Governor Ercan Turan, Azerbaijan Kars Consul General Zamin Aliyev, protocol members and many citizens. The event, organized by the Azerbaijan Language, History and Culture Unity Association and the Iğdır Azerbaijan House, featured a moment of silence and prayers for those martyred in the Khojaly Massacre. The commemoration program began with speeches indicating the meaning and importance of the day. The speakers emphasized that the Khojaly Massacre should not be forgotten and stated that the Azerbaijan-Turkey brotherhood will always remain strong.
Consul General of Azerbaijan in Kars, Zamin Aliyev, stated that the Khojaly Massacre was one of the greatest tragedies in human history and said, "We have not forgotten this genocide in which innocent children, women and elderly people were brutally murdered, and we will not let it be forgotten. We will continue our struggle for justice for Khojaly."
The program continued with the lecture of Prof. Dr. Ali Kafkasyalı, who further deepened the meaning and importance of the day. Kafkasyalı explained the human tragedy experienced in Khojaly with historical facts, revealing the suffering experienced by the Azerbaijani people. Kafkasyalı moved the participants by saying, "Khojaly is not only the common wound of Azerbaijan, but of humanity."
"Justice for Khojaly" photo exhibition brought emotional moments
The commemoration program ended with a visit to the photo exhibition titled "Justice for Khojaly", which was organized to draw attention to the Khojaly Massacre and commemorate those who lost their lives in the massacre.
"Our brotherhood will last forever"
Iğdır Governor Ercan Turan, in his speech at the end of the program, emphasized that the friendship and brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Turkey will always continue. Governor Turan said, "Azerbaijan's pain is our pain. We respectfully commemorate our innocent brothers who were massacred in Khojaly and state once again that we will continue our struggle so that they are not forgotten."
Citizens who attended the commemoration program experienced emotional moments, while messages of unity and solidarity were given. Prayers were made for the Khojaly Massacre not to be forgotten and for justice to be served.
