Mars once had oceans and beaches

Researchers from Penn State University in the US and Guangzhou University in China examined underground imaging data from Mars by the Chinese lander Curong.
The researchers found similarities when comparing Curong's data with data taken from underground near the coast on Earth .
Researchers stated that the underground structure on Mars is at an angle similar to the lands on Earth that tend towards plains or oceans , and that the data indicates that there were beaches and oceans on Mars before.
The researchers noted that the position of these beaches may have changed over time, and that some structures were seen sloping to the north and that the beaches may have advanced towards the ocean over time.
The researchers noted that the beach "extends at least 1.3 kilometers northward toward the ocean," and that these structures indicate that there must be a river in the area, causing tides, waves and sediment.
According to The Guardian newspaper, one of the study authors, Dr. Benjamin Cardenas, stated in his statement that the structures examined did not resemble volcanoes or sand dunes, and that these structures indicated a beach and an ocean, and that traces of life should be investigated.
The findings of the study were published in the journal "The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences".
