Minister Kurum shared: They talk, AK Party does

According to the statement made by the ministry, steps such as social housing through TOKİ for low-income people, new projects through Emlak Konut for middle-income people and land establishment in cooperation with the General Directorate of National Real Estate are being put into action to provide a solution to the rent and housing problem. The ministry has built 1 million 481 thousand social housing units under the coordination of TOKİ to date. The construction of 312 thousand social housing units in 81 provinces continues. The works, which slowed down for a while due to the pandemic and the disaster of the century, accelerated again as of the beginning of this year.
A large part of the project that will provide home ownership to low-income citizens in Saraycık/Yenipeçenek, a district of Sincan in Ankara, has been completed. Construction has been completed in 11 of the 18 stages, and deliveries are ongoing.
With the completion of 5 more stages this year, a total of 12,909 houses, 143 business centers, 2 schools , 6 mosques, and 3 masjids will have been built in the region. To date, 7,825 social housing units have been delivered to their owners.
"I PAY INSTALLMENTS LIKE PAYING MONEY FOR COOKIES"
The rights holder Perihan Kepez, whose views were included in the statement, stated that she became a homeowner as if she were paying rent through the social housing campaign, and said, "For myself, I would not have had the opportunity to even get the letter 'e' of the house. When I entered my house, I was so surprised that I said to my 4-year-old granddaughter, 'Look, Ayşe Betül has become my key.' Because I have never had a house in my life. In this case, I am paying installments as if I were paying for cookies. If the state had not provided us with this opportunity, we would never have been where we are. Let no one be ungrateful. I constantly tell Tayyip Erdoğan, 'You are in heaven.' May Allah be pleased with you. Because he provided us with this opportunity."
Yakup Özcan also explained that he became a homeowner by taking advantage of this project offered by TOKİ, and noted the following:
"We moved in August 2023. Now our payments continue. The rent here is 18-20 thousand liras. We pay 2,500 liras. In other words, a father would not give this to his son. There is a fatherly quality here, the warm hand of the state. This must be what is called social policies. What everyone will focus on is first a roof over their head for low-income people, and secondly, payment terms. I will pay 600 thousand liras in installments over 20 years. This is a great thing. We saw the quality of the buildings TOKİ built during the earthquakes. They all survived. Moreover, the materials used are also of high quality. This is an ideal place for low-income people."
