Rain warning from Meteorology: What will the weather be like over the weekend?

According to the weather forecast published by the General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) for Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1, temperatures will be at seasonal norms throughout the country during the weekend , with showers expected in some regions.

Partly and very cloudy weather is expected throughout the country on Saturday. Thunderstorms will be seen in the south and east of Marmara, the Aegean, Western Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, the inner parts of the Western Black Sea, the Eastern Black Sea and the north of Eastern Anatolia, and around Osmaniye and Hatay.

Rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in the Southern and Central Aegean, the inner parts of the Western Mediterranean, the northwest of Central Anatolia and the inner parts of the Western Black Sea.

In Istanbul , partly and very cloudy weather will prevail throughout the day; intermittent showers and thunderstorms are expected until the evening hours. The temperature will be around 21°C at its highest.

In Ankara, thunderstorms that started in the morning hours are expected to continue throughout the day. The temperature will be at a maximum of 21°C and a minimum of 11°C.

Rainfall will continue on Sunday. Thunderstorms are expected in the east of Marmara, the inner Aegean, the inner parts of the Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, the Black Sea and the north of Eastern Anatolia. Rainfall is expected to be heavy in places in the inner parts of the Western Black Sea and its surroundings. Winds are expected to blow hard (40-60 km/h) from the south and southwest in Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia.
