Scandalous decision from Israel: Doors closed to European Parliament MPs

European Parliament (EP) members Lynn Boylan and Rima Hassan, who went to Israel as part of an official visit, were not allowed to enter the country.
A written statement was made by the Left Group, to which Boylan, Head of the EP Delegation for Relations with Palestine, and Hassan, who is of Palestinian origin, were affiliated, regarding the prevention of their visit.
The statement said that Boylan and Hassan, who went to the region with an AP delegation for an official visit, were not allowed to enter the country at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.
In the statement, it was noted that in addition to the MPs, two members of the EP administration who were not members of any political group were also prevented from entering the country, and that this blockage "constituted an attack on the European Union (EU) institutions."

"SHAMEFUL DECISION"
Boylan, whose views were included in the statement, emphasized that the decision taken by the Israeli authorities was "shameful" and said, "This absolute humiliation of Israel is a result of the international community's failure to hold Israel accountable."
Boylan said he planned to meet with the Palestinian Authority, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and civilians during his visit to the region, and noted the following:
"Israel is a rogue state and this shameful step shows how much they disregard international law. Europe must now hold Israel accountable. We need concrete measures, including sanctions."
Hassan said that Israeli authorities were "trying to prevent" MEPs from carrying out their duties, adding that "Israel clearly wants to prevent elected representatives from witnessing the extent of human rights violations committed on the ground."
