20,000 doctors left Greece

According to reports in the Greek press, many doctors are choosing to go abroad due to low salaries, excessive workload, staff shortages and economic uncertainties.
It was stated that young doctors working in public hospitals receive a salary of less than 1,500 euros per month and are faced with working hours exceeding 65 hours per week.
It was emphasized that the majority of the migrating doctors were young specialists between the ages of 25 and 44, and that this situation not only reduced the quality of health services but also negatively affected the productive population of the country. It was stated that England, Germany, France, Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia were among the countries most preferred by Greek doctors.
