While all taxis are required to have camera systems installed by the weekend, vehicles without an in-cab camera will not be able to pass inspection. In-car cameras aim to both prevent possible negative incidents and assist authorities by acting as evidence in possible crime cases.

RECORDS WILL REMAIN STORED FOR 1 MONTH
According to the regulation of the Ministry of Interior, the taxi camera system must be installed in a way that shows the interior of the vehicle, including the driver's seat, and the section of the road in the direction of travel. The camera recordings must be kept for at least one month while the taxi is in operation. These periods can be redetermined by the transportation coordination centers and provincial traffic commissions of the provinces to which the taxis are affiliated, and these recordings will be made available to the General Directorate of Security and the General Command of Gendarmerie for the purpose of ensuring general security, traffic safety and public order.
