FORMULAS WILL BE DETERMINED

The first formula includes reflecting the 15.75 percent (inflation in the second 6 months of 2024), which is the rate of the January increase for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees, to the bonus. Accordingly, the bonus will increase to 3,472 lira 50 kuruş. According to another formula, the bonus can be increased according to the 2024 inflation rate of 44.38 percent.

If the bonus is increased at this rate, the payment to be made to retirees per holiday will increase to 4,331 lira. In addition, it is being said that the bonus, which was increased from 2,000 lira to 3,000 lira last year, could be increased by 1,000 lira this year to 4,000 lira. As a fourth formula, it is being evaluated that the bonus could be increased by 50 percent as last year. If this increase occurs, the bonus will increase to 4,500 lira.

TO BE PRESENTED TO THE PRESIDENT The study, which also includes the formulas on the bonus issue, will be presented to President Erdoğan. The study is expected to be completed and the decision made in March.

LAW WILL BE ENACTED

If a decision is made to increase the bonus, the prepared bill will be sent to the Parliament. After the proposal is approved by the General Assembly of the Parliament and approved by President Erdoğan, it will be published in the Official Gazette and enter into force.

CALENDAR WILL BE DETERMINED

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security will determine and announce the payment schedule for the first bonus. This year, Eid al-Fitr falls on March 30-April 1. Saturday, March 29 is the day of the holiday. Therefore, the Eid al-Fitr bonus is expected to be paid between March 24-28.

NEW RETIREES WILL ALSO GET IT

As of March, pensioners, widows and orphans who have been granted monthly payments will benefit from the Ramadan Feast bonus. Those who apply for monthly payments until the end of February will also be able to receive this payment. If their transactions are completed, they will receive the Ramadan Feast bonus on the announced payment date, if not, when their monthly payments are made.
