China had requested: Türkiye is on the World Trade Organization's radar!

The World Trade Organization (WTO) announced that it has decided to examine the steps taken by Turkey regarding electric vehicle imports from China.
According to a statement from the WTO, the DSB members accepted China’s request to establish a dispute panel to review measures taken by Turkey regarding electric vehicles and some other types of vehicles originating from China.
CHINA ASKS WTO TO INVESTIGATE CUSTOMS DUTYIn January, China's Ministry of Commerce requested the World Trade Organization to form an expert group to examine Turkey's customs duties on electric vehicle imports from China.
Türkiye announced that it would impose an additional 40 percent customs duty on vehicles imported from China in June 2024 and imposed strict conditions on the import of plug-in hybrid vehicles, including those imported from China at the end of 2024.
