Meteorology issues downpour warning for many cities, including Istanbul

The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) shared the weather report for Saturday, August 2.

According to forecasts from the National Security Administration (MGM), the northern, central, and western parts of the country are expected to be partly to very cloudy. Local showers and thunderstorms are expected in the eastern Marmara region, the central Aegean region, the inland Mediterranean region, Central Anatolia, the central and eastern Black Sea coasts, the Hatay coast, and the areas around Sinop, Bolu, Kastamonu, Amasya, Tokat, and Ardahan. Other areas are expected to be partly cloudy and clear. Winds are expected to blow from the north along the Marmara and northern Aegean coasts, and from the south in eastern Eastern Anatolia, with winds of 40-60 km/h.

It is estimated that air temperatures will decrease slightly in the inner and eastern parts, while there will be no significant change in other regions.

MARMARA: Partly to very cloudy skies are expected, with localized showers and thunderstorms expected in the east of the region. Strong northerly winds (40-60 km/h) are expected.
