Water bottle blinds! 850,000 products are being recalled urgently

American retail chain Walmart's steel water bottles have gone blind.
Approximately 850,000 stainless steel water bottles have been recalled because the bottle caps could fly off and unexpectedly hit consumers. The bottles have caused permanent vision loss in two people.
According to NTV, citing AFP, the recall covers Ozark Trail 64 oz Stainless Steel Insulated Water Bottles, which have been sold in Walmart stores nationwide since 2017. According to a statement released Thursday by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, these products pose serious impact and tear hazards. This is because the caps can pop off forcefully when a consumer attempts to open the bottles after perishable beverages like food, soda, juice, or milk have been stored inside for some time, the CPSC said.
THREE CONSUMERS GAVE FEEDBACK
As of Thursday's announcement, Walmart had received three reports of consumers injured when the caps struck their faces while opening the bottles. The CPSC also noted that two of these individuals suffered permanent vision loss after being struck in the eye. Consumers are urged to stop using their now-unused Ozark Trail bottles and contact Walmart for a full refund.
