Huge operation from the Ministry of Interior

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 66 suspects with a transaction volume of 1 billion TL in their accounts were caught in operations carried out in the last week within the scope of the fight against cybercrimes, and 27 of them were arrested . It was stated that the suspects were connected to crimes such as illegal betting, qualified fraud and qualified theft.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made an important statement regarding the fight against cybercrime. In his post on his social media account, Yerlikaya reported that 66 suspects with a total transaction volume of 1 billion TL in their accounts were caught in the last week and 27 of them were arrested .
Ali Yerlikaya made the following statement in his statement: “As part of the fight against cybercrimes, we have caught 66 suspects with a transaction volume of 1 billion lira in their accounts in the last week. 27 of them were arrested, judicial control decisions were issued for 31 of them. The procedures for the others are continuing.”
Yerlikaya stated that the operations were planned to be centered in 9 provinces and were carried out in a total of 19 provinces including Istanbul, Aydin, Yalova, Tunceli, Van, Antalya, Ankara, Afyonkarahisar and Sanliurfa, as well as Batman, Kayseri, Mersin, Aksaray, Bilecik, Adana, Izmir, Osmaniye and Kocaeli .
During the operations, it was determined that the suspects made unjust gains through the following methods:

Generating income by advertising on social media platforms through illegal betting sites

Fraud via vehicle sales ads

Withdrawing money from bank accounts by stealing mobile banking information

Qualified theft by obtaining identity information and passwords under the name of "investment consultancy" and "postpaid line assistance"

Calling citizens and getting them to transfer large amounts of money with the lie that "your name is on the agenda for a terror investigation"
The operations were carried out under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Gendarmerie General Command Cyber Crime Prevention Department . The provincial gendarmerie commands carried out meticulous work in the field and identified the criminals.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya concluded his statement by saying: “I congratulate our governors, our chief public prosecutors who coordinated the operations, our provincial gendarmerie commanders who carried out the operations, our heroic gendarmerie and our MASAK employees. As in Kara Vatan, we continue our fight against crime and criminals with our virtual patrols in Cyber Vatan.”
