Türk Telekom CEO Ümit Önal: We have the right to use the highest capacity per subscriber in 5G.

Today marks a historic day, marking the taking of a crucial step that will shape Türkiye's digital future. The 5G frequency tender represents a strategic turning point in our country's digitalization journey.

As Türk Telekom, we have been preparing for this process with great determination for many years. We see 5G not merely as a technological transition, but as a crucial tool that will carry our country to a stronger future. We have made investments in many areas, from our R&D efforts to 5G trials and field tests, in line with this strategy.

For 185 years, we have been pioneers of the 5G era, as we have in every era of communications. We have proven this through countless industry firsts, including Türkiye's first national industrial 5G network, the first remote surgery, an autonomous tractor, the first live 5G match broadcast, and the first hologram press conference.

Our years of fiber investments form the strongest foundation for 5G today. Our extensive fiber infrastructure is critical to the rapid, secure, and uninterrupted implementation of 5G. Today, with our 515,000-kilometer fiber network, 55% of our LTE mobile base stations connected via fiber, our superior mobile performance, our technological expertise, and our innovative applications, we are Türkiye's most 5G-ready operator.

5G isn't just a technology that increases connection speed. It represents a transformation that redefines boundaries and enables innovative solutions for efficiency, speed, and security in all areas, from healthcare and agriculture to transportation and industry, and from sports to the arts. We are at the center of this transformation. We see this as a national responsibility and continue to do our part in this regard.

According to BTK market data, as of 2024, we have been the company that has invested the most in the sector for the last four years. With the strategic acquisition of frequencies in the 4.5G tender and our subsequent customer experience-based strategy, we have become the playmaker of the mobile sector. As of 2024, we have been the most preferred operator in the Mobile Number Portability (MNT) market for the last three years. With over 2.5 million net mobile postpaid subscriber additions in the last twelve months, we achieved the highest growth in both our history and the sector.

We haven't limited our 5G vision to infrastructure investments. We are working diligently to establish and develop a domestic and national 5G ecosystem that will reduce our dependence on foreign technology. We will continue to make strategic investments for Türkiye's digital future and to be the driver of this domestic ecosystem.

As Türk Telekom, the operator that received the most bandwidth per subscriber in the 4.5G tender, we will be at the forefront of our country's 5G transition process by providing the best customer experience to all our subscribers, from individuals to corporates, starting from the launch of the 5G signal.

Following the tender, we secured 1.5 times the frequency of our closest competitor. We now have the highest capacity usage rights per subscriber in 5G. Thanks to the frequencies we secured as planned across all packages in the 5G tender, we are taking our goal of providing the best customer experience one step further and upholding our responsibility to contribute to Türkiye's digital transformation. We will continue to build our country's digital future with unwavering commitment to prioritizing the public interest.
