Detained Bayrampaşa Mayor Hasan Mutlu was taken to hospital

Detained as part of an investigation into the Bayrampaşa Municipality by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Bayrampaşa Mayor Hasan Mutlu was arrested on September 16.

According to a report in Cumhuriyet newspaper, it was learned that Hasan Mutlu, who received threats to change political parties before his arrest, underwent emergency surgery for a condition in his left leg following rumors that an operation would be carried out against the municipality, and was discharged on September 9.

It was learned that Mutlu, who was detained four days after his discharge from prison and was taken to Silivri State Hospital for a checkup due to pain and complaints. Municipal sources released the following statement on the matter:

"Bayrampaşa Mayor Hasan Mutlu underwent emergency surgery due to discomfort in his left leg during a period when there were rumors and rumors that an operation would be conducted against him. He was discharged on Tuesday, September 9th; however, he was arrested on September 13th before his checkup and treatment could be completed.

Mr. Mutlu, whose pain and complaints increased during his imprisonment, was taken to Silivri State Hospital today (October 22) for the necessary checks. We are making this statement to ensure the public is properly informed and thank you for your sensitivity and interest.
