Careless driving charge laid in fatal Oxford County crash between sedan, truck: OPP
A 51-year-old truck driver from Vineland Station has been charged with careless driving causing death in connection with a springtime collision north of Woodstock, Ont.
The crash, at Oxford Road 8 and 16th Line on April 14 at around 3 p.m. ET, involved a sedan and a commercial motor vehicle, Ontario Provincial Police said.
The 22-year-old driver of the sedan, identified only as a resident of Maple, was transported to hospital and pronounced dead there.
The truck driver, whose identity has also not been released, suffered minor injuries.
The same East Zorra-Tavistock intersection was the scene of a separate collision on July 22 that left four people in hospital, including one in critical condition, and another with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
