M6 traffic LIVE: Huge delays after 'lorry sheds load' causing queues

Drivers are facing significant delays on the M6 and A49 near Wigan due to a lorry shedding its load. The incident has led to the closure of the entry slip road for the M6 southbound at junction 25, near Bryn. Traffic monitoring system Inrix reports heavy traffic between junctions 26, at the M58 Orrell Interchange, and 25. Two lanes of the southbound carriageway have been closed, causing queues on the A49 Warrington Road, heading from Wigan towards the M6 at junction 25.
An update from Inrix stated: "M6 Southbound entry slip road closed slow traffic, two lanes closed due to shed load at J25 (Bryn)."

Normal traffic conditions are expected between 9.15am and 9.30am.
National Highways says there are delays on the the M6 southbound between junctions J26 and J25 because of congestion.
Normal traffic conditions are expected between 8.15am and 8.30am.
There are currently delays of 10 minutes against expected traffic.
