Marks and Spencer issues urgent recall on popular product - ‘do not eat’

Marks & Spencer has issued a recall over one of its products due to the risk of it containing an ingredient not listed on the packaging. The supermarket is recalling its own-brand M&S Milk Chocolate Honeycomb "due to the possible presence of undeclared peanuts in a small number of packs".
This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) said. M&S flagged the product in a point of sale notice. Batches that are affected have a best before date of May 12, 2026, and a lot number of 5242.
Full details are below.
- Product: M&S Milk Chocolate Honeycomb
- Pack size: 120g
- Lot number: 5242
- Best before: May 12, 2026
- Barcode number: 0917568/29143603
M&S apologised to customers and said the decision was made "in the abundance of caution".
It told anyone who has bought the product and has an allergy to peanuts not to eat it. You can return packs to your nearest store for a full refund.
Customers can contact Marks & Spencer on 03330 148555 for more information.
The supermarket said “customer safety is of paramount importance to Marks & Spencer".
“We take all issues regarding the production of our foods extremely seriously," it added.
The FSA said: "Marks & Spencer is recalling the above product from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.
"The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product."
