Royal Family LIVE: Prince Harry's old friend turns on Duke over 'unforgivable behaviour'
An old friend of Prince Harry's, whose sister was also one of Princess Diana's close friends, has criticised his behaviour following his bombshell interview with the BBC last week. As per the Daily Mail, the son of late billionaire Sir James Goldsmith has spoken out about Harry's interview with the news outlet. In a tweet on May 3, Ben Goldsmith wrote: "Tragic, but true- Prince Harry’s behaviour is unforgivable."
Ben, 44, is the first former pal of the Duke of Sussex to condemn him publicly. Harry admitted in his memoir Spare that he had lost friends over his decision to tell all to American chat show host, Oprah Winfrey.
The Duke said in his interview that he wanted to reconcile with the royals, alleging that his father is not currently speaking to him. The interview was broadcast after he lost his legal challenge at the Court of Appeal over his UK security arrangements. When Harry stepped back from Royal life in 2020, his security was downgraded. It means he must give notice of UK visits so his security needs can be assessed each time.
Buckingham Palace said of the Duke's comments: "All these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion on each occasion."
