Sky News halted for 'breaking' Donald Trump news as US military takes strike

Sky News was halted yesterday evening to deliver a breaking update that Donald Trump had posted on Truth Social, stating the US military had carried out a strike on a drug cartel vessel, which the 79-year-old claimed was on its way to the United States of America. The Sky reporter began: "We have some breaking news which has just come in. Donald Trump has put out a statement on Truth Social saying the US military has carried out another strike on a Venezuelan drug cartel vessel, which had been on its way to the US.

"The President said three men were killed. So that was a statement on Truth Social that the US President has put out, saying the US military has carried out another strike. Remember, about two weeks ago, the US military launched a strike, and now he's saying there's been another strike on a Venezuelan drug vessel which had been on its way to the US."

Sky News then broadcast images of the strike as a vessel could be seen aflame in the sea.

US correspondent David Blevins said this is an "echo of the attack two weeks ago when Donald Trump reported that the US had carried out a strike" on a boat he claimed was transporting narcotics.

The last strike claimed the lives of 11 people, and three, branded "narcoterrorists" by Trump, have been killed in this latest one.

Blevins, reporting from Washington, D.C., added: "All of this ties in with the President's border policies. We know he is attempting to shut the southern border completely."

The reporter said the President is trying to prevent the movement of drugs like cocaine and fentanyl from Latin American countries into the United States.

The Truth Social post from Trump read: "This morning, on my Orders, US Military Forces conducted a SECOND Kinetic Strike against positively identified, extraordinarily violent drug trafficking cartels and narcoterrorists in the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility. The Strike occurred while these confirmed narcoterrorists from Venezuela were in International Waters transporting illegal narcotics (A DEADLY WEAPON POISONING AMERICANS!) headed to the US.

“These extremely violent drug trafficking cartels POSE A THREAT to U.S. National Security, Foreign Policy, and vital US Interests,” he added. “The Strike resulted in 3 male terrorists killed in action. No US Forces were harmed in this Strike.”
