What's open and closed (and fun things to do) Thanksgiving weekend in London

Thanksgiving Day is Monday Oct. 13 this year and it means some businesses will be closed or operating on reduced hours. Here's a rundown of what's open and closed, and what's happening to keep your families busy.
Shopping:Masonville and White Oaks malls will both be closed Monday.
Most major grocery story chains will be closed on Monday.
Get your money out before Monday. All of the major banks are closed.
Alcohol:LCBO locations will be closed on the holiday. Most Beer Store outlets will be closed as well. Some Wine Rack locations are open.
Transit:The London Transit Commission is running on a holiday schedule. Holiday schedules are available on the Routes & Schedules page. The downtown ticket office is closed on Monday, but the Highbury Avenue location will be open. Track your route in real time here.
City and government services:Garbage collection is cancelled on Monday. Regular collection shifts by one day. Confused? Here's the schedule.
All government offices, including Service Ontairo and City Hall services, are closed on Monday.

Check out the fall colours from London City Hall's observation deck. The top floor overlooking Victoria Park is open Saturday this weekend. Reserve your spot here. After this weekend, it will be open Thursday to Sunday until Oct. 26.
