Full list of DWP May bank holiday payment dates revealed from State Pension to PIP

State Pension, Universal Credit, Attendance Allowance, and other benefit claimants may see changes to their payment dates next month due to two bank holidays in May. The holidays fall on Monday, May 5, and Monday, May 26. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) do not issue benefit payments on these days.

Payment dates can vary depending on the type of benefit received. If your scheduled payment falls on a bank holiday, it will likely be made earlier. According to a statement on GOV.UK: “If your payment date is on a weekend or a bank holiday, you’ll usually be paid on the working day before.”

This means benefit payments due to be paid on either of these days will likely be paid on Friday, May 2, and Friday, May 25.

Some benefits are paid every two weeks, while others can be paid every four weeks.

HMRC payments typically due on Monday, May 5, will land on Friday, May 2 instead.

Those expecting a HMRC benefit payment on Monday, May 26, will instead receive theirs on Friday, May 23.
