BREAKING: Keir Starmer home fire: Man arrested over alleged arson attack
Police were called to the property in North London on Monday morning

A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged arson attack at Keir Starmer's north London home.

The Metropolitan Police said the 21-year-old was arrested in the early hours of this morning in connection with three alleged attacks. It follows fires at two properties linked to the Prime Minister as well as a nearby vehicle.

The two properties were damaged within 24 hoursm while there was a vehicle fire last Thursday. Scotland Yard said the suspect was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.

Police are investigating whether the fires were linked and counter-terrorism officers are leading the inquiry as the properties have connections to a high-profile public figure. Scotland Yard is also looking into a vehicle fire on May 8 as part of the probe.

The London Fire Brigade, which attended the property, managed to get the blaze under control around 20 minutes after receiving a call at 1:11am on Monday. Mr Starmer thanked “the emergency services for their work”. Downing Street could not comment further due to a “live investigation”.

The PM's property has previously been targeted by protestors. Residents were said to hear a “loud bang” during the night and woke to see flashing lights and sirens.
