Donald Trump sparks 'concern' after viewers spot issue during Macron press conference

President Donald Trump sparked rumours about his hearing health during a press conference in the Oval Office with French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday, after he repeatedly asked reporters to speak up.
Despite the journalists and translators projecting their voices clearly, Trump requested them to raise their volume at least twice.
A user on X highlighted the issue, posting: "Unironically, Trump might be losing his hearing. He's asked at least twice in this Oval Office presser with Macron for journalists / the translator to speak up even when you can hear them clearly".
Another user wryly commented, "Trump and Macron are like a dialogue between a blind and a deaf man."
Earlier this month, Donald Trump paused during a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, seemingly struggling to comprehend a journalist's question.
Afghan White House correspondent Nazira Karimi asked Trump about his future plans for the Afghan people, to which he responded: "I have a little hard time understanding you; where are you from?"
Karimi and several other reporters answered Afghanistan, although it's unclear whether he actually heard the response. He said: "Actually, it's a beautiful voice and a beautiful accent. The only problem is, I can't understand a word you're saying, but I just say this: good luck, live in peace".
In an awkward encounter at February's press conference alongside Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Trump interrupted a reporter mid-query, suggesting he couldn't comprehend the question due to the journalist's accent. The incident led onlookers to ponder if Trump was genuinely having difficulty hearing, or if it was an attempt to sidestep the inquiry.
In Monday's press conference, Macron publicly challenged Trump, correcting him over his assertions about Ukraine in what appeared to be a moment of diplomatic pushback. This intervention highlighted a strain between the two statesmen despite their seemingly friendly rapport.
Trump proposed the notion that European countries were simply lending funds to Kyiv, saying: "Just so you understand, Europe is loaning the money to Ukraine. They're getting their money back," but Macron promptly stepped in, reaching over to grab Trump’s arm to punctuate his counter-argument.
"No, in fact, to be frank, we paid," Macron declared. "We paid 60 percent of the total effort. It was like the US - loans, guarantees, grants".
