After the accident involving two buses in Saarbrücken , which left numerous people injured, investigators are trying to find out more about the cause of the accident. "The buses were towed away and a reconstruction report is now being prepared," said a police spokesman. The recorded tracks and the traffic light phases are also being evaluated. However, results are not expected for a few days at the earliest.
At least 33 people were injured when the two vehicles collided in the Saarland state capital, including twelve kindergarten children and both bus drivers.
Nine people were seriously injured, police announced on Monday. 28 people were taken to nearby hospitals. According to police, the injured are between three and 80 years old. At the time of the accident, there were 41 people in the two vehicles. The twelve children were reportedly part of a kindergarten group.

Both were on the road on behalf of the municipal company. The managing director estimated the material damage after the accident at up to 600,000 euros. According to the police, the bus drivers were a 59-year-old man from the Saarlouis district and a 43-year-old man from France.
The accident occurred on Monday morning on a street in an outer district of the state capital of Saarland. The police received several emergency calls at around 9:08 a.m., they said. The buses collided head-on near a shopping center. According to the police, 20 emergency vehicles were involved. A rescue helicopter was also on site at times.
