Press release: 'Frankfurter Rundschau' on the end of the haggling over D-Ticket

FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - "Frankfurter Rundschau" on the end of the haggling over the Deutschlandticket:
"The Deutschlandticket is getting more expensive. The subscription price will rise by five euros per month – from the current 58 to 63 euros in the future. That's the bad news for the approximately 14 million people who currently use the ticket. But there's also some good news: The annual wrangling over funding should be over – for now. Until now, the federal and state governments have wrangled every year over the billion-euro subsidy to offset the shortfalls in revenue for the transport associations. Negotiations usually lasted months. This was also the case this year, but to the surprise of many, the agreement for 2026 has given the ticket a perspective until 2030. Until then, a funding commitment from the federal government will suffice. This is a breakthrough that can make the ticket better and more attractive. Companies that have previously shied away from the bureaucratic hassle of offering their employees this ticket, which is in jeopardy, will have planning security in the future."/DP/jha
