Press release: 'Südkurier' on infrastructure/budget

KONSTANZ (dpa-AFX) - "Südkurier" on infrastructure/budget:
"At times, one wonders whether Markus Söder is actually part of a governing party or some kind of permanent Bavarian opposition. He himself doesn't seem to know. When he now complains about a lack of money for infrastructure expansion, perhaps it doesn't dawn on the Minister-President himself who could be playing a decisive role in this? Perhaps the dear CSU? With its clientele gifts, such as the mother's pension and the restaurant tax cut, it has negotiated permanent burdens on the budget that will tie up money every year, which will then be missing for investments.
The confusion surrounding infrastructure investments is nevertheless annoying. However, one must not forget: a cash cow hasn't been found in Berlin, only a debt pump. Spending still needs to be prioritized. To even get the existing infrastructure up to a functioning state, renovation must take priority over expansion. And for the future, rail must come before road./yyzz/DP/nas
