Bulgaria | Neo-Nazi Habibi Steven in prison

Dortmund-based neo-Nazi Steven Feldmann was arrested in a student dormitory in the Bulgarian province of Veliko Tarnovo. Feldmann was due to begin serving a prison sentence in August 2023, including for multiple assaults, but evaded serving his sentence and further criminal proceedings. Since December 2023, an international arrest warrant has been issued for Feldmann, but no public appeal has been filed.

Feldmann, in his early 30s, had been repeatedly convicted of violent crimes since his early youth. Until his escape, he was a core member of Dortmund's neo-Nazi scene and made a name for himself across Germany as a guest of high-profile YouTube influencers . Migrant influencers nicknamed Feldmann "Habibi Steven." In Dortmund, Feldmann had gathered a group around him that included violent young migrants . Together, they hunted alleged pedophiles, queer people, and leftists.

Feldmann also dabbles in influencer work, active on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. His last video was last Friday. In his videos, he repeatedly mocked the authorities and joked about possible arrests. Now that Feldmann has been arrested, the Bulgarian and German authorities are preparing his extradition to Dortmund.

Antifascists point out that Feldmann's stay in Bulgaria is no surprise. The Dortmund neo-Nazis' connections to Bulgaria have long been known. The groups have repeatedly visited each other at demonstrations.

The nd.Genossenschaft belongs to our readers and authors. Through the cooperative, we guarantee the independence of our editorial team and strive to make our texts accessible to everyone—even if they don't have the money to help finance our work.

We don't have a hard paywall on our website out of conviction. However, this also means that we have to repeatedly ask everyone who can contribute to help finance our journalism. This is stressful, not only for our readers, but also for our authors, and sometimes it becomes too much.

Nevertheless: Only together can we defend left-wing positions!
