Despite ongoing peace efforts, Russian attacks on Ukraine continue.

During the night, a number of combat drones and missiles were fired toward Ukrainian cities, reported the Kyiv Independent. According to the RBK-Ukraine news agency, explosions were heard in the capital Kyiv and the western Ukrainian city of Lviv.

RBK-Ukraine reported, citing regional governor Maksym Kosytskyi, that air defenses were deployed in the Lviv region. An air raid warning had already been issued in Kyiv on Wednesday evening, as drone attacks continued there overnight. Air defenses were also active there. People should stay in shelters, the news agency wrote, citing Kyiv's military administration. There were no immediate details on injuries or damage.

Ukraine has been defending itself against a Russian invasion for almost three and a half years. US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and leading European politicians discussed a peace process for Ukraine on Monday. A meeting between Trump and Zelensky is planned next, followed by a three-way meeting with Trump. However, no details on these planned talks have been released yet.
