Trump-Musk dispute: Now Poland's Sikorski is also involved

Now Poland's Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski is also getting involved in the heated dispute between Donald Trump and Elon Musk - and is using the skirmish overseas for a little revenge against Elon Musk .

Via short message service X, Sikorski writes: “See, big man, politics is harder than you thought.” This roughly translates as: “See, big man, politics is harder than you thought.”

This refers to Elon Musk, owner of X, the richest man in the world, until recently one of US President Donald Trump's most important partners – and recently one of his most sharp-tongued critics. In Washington, sparks are flying, the world is watching, spellbound. And some are exploiting the skirmish for their own ends.

With his ironic "big man," Radoslaw Sikorski is taking subtle revenge on Elon Musk. Three months earlier, the elected politician had to endure being called a "little man" by the unelected advisor.

In March, the US and Poland clashed over the maintenance and costs of the Starlink satellite service operated by Musk's US space company SpaceX for Russia-attacked Ukraine. Musk had written—on X, of course—that Ukraine's entire front line would collapse if he shut down Starlink.

Sikorski then engaged in a heated exchange with Musk. Sikorski explained that Poland transfers approximately $50 million a year to Starlink for Ukraine. If the satellite service is no longer a reliable provider, Poland will have to look for alternatives. Musk then escalated the argument by saying, "Shut up, little man. You're only paying a fraction of the cost." And there's no replacement for Starlink anyway.

Now, three months later, the Polish Foreign Minister is using the dispute in Washington to launch a cold counterattack.
