A bus carrying 70 people overturns on the C-32 motorway in Santa Susanna (Barcelona).

A bus carrying around 70 tourists overturned and left the road while traveling on the C-32 motorway near Santa Susanna (Barcelona). According to the Catalan government's fire department , most of the occupants managed to escape the vehicle on their own, but the incident left 53 people injured, two of them seriously.

The incident, according to sources from the Catalan Traffic Service and the Fire Department , occurred shortly after midday at kilometer 127.7 of the C-32. As a result of the accident, traffic is currently only permitted in one lane towards Barcelona .

Firefighters have reported that most of the passengers were able to exit the bus without assistance after the vehicle went off the road and ended up on a slope. The tourists affected by the accident remain at this location.

Several Emergency Medical System units, as well as fourteen firefighter teams, are working at the accident site at midday , inspecting the interior of the bus to ensure that no one is trapped .
