Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez enjoy their three-day show in Venice.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez enjoy their three-day show in Venice.

The circus has come to town. Or so it seems. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are already enjoying the show they organized for the couple's wedding in Venice . A wedding and a lavish after-wedding celebration reportedly cost the Amazon founder between $10 and $30 million . Nothing that should worry the third richest man in the world.

Bezos and Sanchez arrived in Venice on Wednesday, and they did so like two Hollywood stars . Flashbulbs everywhere. They greeted each other delightedly, of course. And now the real wedding begins. Or fake, depending on how you look at it. Because they say it might even be a fake wedding , since there's no shortage of anything here. It turns out that Page Six has reported that the couple may have arrived in Venice already married, by virtue of having signed a prenuptial agreement.

Much to their chagrin, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez decided against a grand entrance into Venice aboard their 127-meter-long yacht , as the Venetian canals were not suitable for such a landing. They arrived by helicopter after leaving the boat parked in Croatia for security reasons and against their wishes. They followed the advice of their team, given the strong protests such a wedding has generated in the city.

A guy who only had money

The couple has rented the Aman Hotel for the weekend. The whole thing. Seven stars, like seven suns, and at 11,000 euros per room per night . At that price, it's easy to imagine what's included: views of the beautiful Rialto Bridge, Tieopolo frescoes, Sansovino finishes, fine china, silverware... And it's just one of five hotels of the same category they've reserved for their entourage and guests.

This Friday's event included a party at the Teatro Verde on the island of San Giorgio, facing St. Mark's Square. The couple dressed up and dressed romantically, including a dress code inspired by " The Great Gatsby ," Scott Fitzgerald's literary work—which had a couple of less-than-successful film versions—dealing with the emotional misfortune of a man who only had money. What a thing.

That will be the bridal party itself, and that's where the 30-carat diamond ring slipped onto Lauren Sanchez's finger is expected to make its appearance. A stone valued at $5 million, Bezos has given to his beloved wife. There will also be a Matteo Bocelli concert and, of course, fireworks to cap off the long ceremony, a common occurrence at the weddings of American billionaires.

And what will the after-wedding party be like? It's already known that Saturday's plan is to be at the Arsenale. That's where the final waltz will be held, with a Settecento-style masked ball . Once again, protests have forced the relocation from the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, as originally intended. It's in the city center, and security wasn't guaranteed. The city council has taken €200,000 for the rent . Once again, Bezos is happy to pay.

Anything goes to ensure that Bezos and Sanchez's 250 guests leave Venice feeling like they've attended an exclusive show. From Ivanka Trump to Orlando Bloom (without Katy Perry, who have split up), from Oprah Winfrey to Bill Gates, from Rania of Jordan to the Kardashians... And presumably, the canals also feature Lady Gaga, Elton John, Mark Zuckerberg, George Clooney, Anne Wintour, Dolce & Gabbana, and even Leonardo DiCaprio, who played Gatsby in the latest film version.

Guests received a welcome bag with typical Venetian sweets and an exclusively designed Murano glass chalice-bowl. Oh, and the bride and groom left them a note asking them not to give gifts and asking them to make a donation in their name to Venice (with the right to a statue?), that "magical place that has given us unforgettable moments ."
